Volunteer Information for the 2011 Portage Potato Festival

KIDS ACTIVITIES: 

ART SPOT -4-6 people needed to encourage children to participate in several kinds of crafts and art activities for young children. previous experience an asset.

BIKE DECORATING CONTEST -3-4 people may want a younger person on board.

CHILDREN ACTIVITIES & GAMES -Approximately 25-30 volunteers needed to assist with children's races, supervising craft and colouring stations and other activities. Volunteers could encourge children to participate in activities and assist where necessary.

INFORMATION BOOTH -Need 8-10 people to assist with giving information to people, selling of t-shirts or other festival products, give out maps, directions,can deliver messages or hold messages for people.

MAINSTAGE HELPERS -For the entire day and night (need about 4-6 people)to assist with changing of stage acts, runners, etc. 

FRIDAY NIGHT SET UP -2-4 people needed

Security Stations - Needed approximately 30-40 people. Includes manning specific stations to assist with traffic controls, directions,behavior conduct,direct questions to information booth,ensuring no motorized vehicles - bikes or skateboards on pedestrian sites, dogs on leashes. Will make some rounds. Must report any altercations or questions to Security Supervisor. Will be using low frequency radios.
